Aloha !
Thank you so much for making this year's "Music Is Good Medicine Japan Tour 2009" the best one yet! I really had a wonderful time - lots of new music, fun projects and exciting experiences. The fan club event this year was a blast as well. I hope everyone had a great time. All of you have been so incredibly supportive year after year - honto domo arigatou gozaimasu. Otsukaresamadeshita. Boku no nihongo gambarimasu.
Have a wonderful winter and please keep warm. Take some vitamin C supplements to keep your immune system strong during the changing of the seasons. Take at least 2000mg a day. I'll be visiting Japan again in December performing with Hakase Taro and Oshio Kotaro. Tanoshimii!! Hope to see you at the concerts!
Take care everyone and wasurenai de ne - Music Is Good Medicine!!

Aloha JKLUB members!
Ohisashiburi desu! First of all, let me start by saying I absolutely miss hanging out in Japan. I was there for a short time last month but it still wasn't enough. I wanted to extend my stay and do a few more shows! By the way, thank you to those who attended the Beatles' Tribute Secret Live Concert! Tanoshikatta!!
I hope you enjoyed it. I was so surprised to see so many people there. That was incredible!
This year will be another exciting year as we will be entering a few new markets. Brazil and Europe! I'm really looking forward to touring there. I know it'll be another inspirational experience for me. But, Japan will always be my favorite place to tour. I am looking forward to the release of my new LIVE CD in a few months.
It will include two bonus tracks that aren't available on the U.S. version. One is a track from the Yokohama show, and the other was recorded in Nigata. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu...
Another exciting project is our Music Is Good Medicine program. We are almost done with our U.S. website and we've been really active with school visits recently. Here's our new mission statement for the Music Is Good Medicine program.
"Our mission is to use the power of music to heal, influence and inspire people to improve our community, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and pursue their dreams with a positive attitude."
If you share this vision, we would love to have you as a part of our program in the future. I'll let you know once the website is up and running.
Well, I'm looking forward to our Japan tour again this summer.
This year's tour title will be the same as last year. "Music Is Good Medicine." I really believe in this program and I hope to spread the joy of music to people all over the world using the ukulele. It'll be so much fun!
Thank you for all your support over the years! Let's have a great summer tour together. Also, please be on the lookout for a new Japanese movie called "Sideways." I recently completed writing the music for the film. We will be releasing the soundtrack around the same time as the LIVE CD so please check it out. There will be a lot of original songs on the soundtrack that weren't used in the film. We included some of the alternate takes as well as tracks with added ukulele parts exclusively for the soundtrack. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu...
Take everyone and I'm looking forward to seeing all of you again
very soon!
Aloha and god bless...

Aloha and otsukaresamadeshita!
Thank you so much for your support during our MUSIC IS GOOD MEDICINE tour!
This was by far my longest tour in Japan, but it sure went by quickly! I can't believe it's all over! I'm back in Hawaii now and after being home for only a week, I'm already starting to miss Japan...
This year, I had many new experiences. I had a kendo lesson, participated in a taiko ensemble, learned all of my hiragana characters, recorded with Yoyo Ma and Cyndi Lauper, turned 32 years old, learned how to make soba, became an uncle, released my first book, played at the San Francisco Jazz Festival & Montreal Jazz Festival, and ate raw horse meat! Wow!!! And that was only in the last 5 months!!!
Thank you so much for your encouragement! If it weren't for your support, I wouldn't be able to have all of these once in a lifetime opportunities...
Thank you thank you thank you...
Take care and have a Merry Christmas this year!
I'm looking forward to spending my Christmas in Osaka this year...
I hope to see you there!
Happy New Year and don't forget about your new year resolutions! I have 2 so far...
1. Compose a few songs on the guitar
2. Run the Honolulu Marathon again in 2009
Gambarimasu!
Hawaii ni kite kudasai!

Aloha!

Well, the month of May has been a whirlwind of exciting events for me! The biggest of them all was the birth of my nephew, Kylen-kun! He was born on May 6, 2008, just two days after my return home from my U.S. Mainland tour! I was so lucky to be home to witness life's most precious miracle!

Can you believe I'm an uncle? Well, I will do my best to be a good uncle!

Gambarimasu...

Soon, I will be getting ready to record my next project. Becoming an uncle has inspired me a lot! I'm sure this experience will greatly affect my music and creativity!

Thank you for your support.

Peace, love, and Kylen-kun...

Aloha! I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your support over the years. As I've said, time and time again, I love Japan; the people, the food, and the wonderful culture. I always learn so much during my visits there.
I especially want to express my appreciation to all of the JKLUB members. JKLUB has been such a driving force in everything I do. I can't thank you enough for always believing in me.
JKLUB JAPAN has been really growing and we've been having lots of fun planning unique and personal events recently. In January, we had 3 wonderful JKLUB events on Maui during our 4 night concert series at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. It was a great opportunity for me to meet a lot of the supporting members of JKLUB. I had a wonderful time! Even our website has been actively changing with new updates of videos and short clips in the members area. Right now, there's a video series of our summer tour last year in japan. Some clips are a bit funny, while others are just really embarrassing! Hahaha!!
Well, take care and thanks for visiting our website!
I hope to see you soon!

Aloha!
How's the weather in Japan? It's hot here in the states!
Well, I'm really excited about the upcoming summer tour!
I've been working on some new songs and can't wait to start performing them.
This year, for the band concerts, I'll be playing with Seann Carroll on drums, Mark Tanouye on bass, guitarist/singer Jeff K., and of course, Michael Grande on keyboards. And for the solo shows, I'll be having a special guest performer for a few songs. It'll be a surprise!
Let's all have a great time in celebrating music and life during our "Gently Weeps" tour. I will also be performing songs from the Hula Girl movie soundtrack that will be released very soon! Please check it out. Take care and I'll see you soon!
